  5. This file documents the changes in Zap since the last release.
  6.  
  7. Changes 1.30-1.35
  8. -----------------
  9.  
  10. Only a year late for this release! I'm afraid there aren't many improvements
  11. from me this time, mainly bug fixes for the StrongARM and improved usage with
  12. networks. However, mode authors have been very active and there are lots of
  13. new and useful modes included with this release. I was hoping to have some
  14. time between finishing writing up my thesis and starting my new job at ARM to
  15. do some work on Zap but in the end there was only one weekend which wasn't
  16. really enough :-(
  17.  
  18. New features:
  19. * There is a new variable in the Keys file (&31c) for setting the attributes
  20.   of newly created files. Default is WR/wr (ie &33 - see p2-13 of PRM).
  21.   Attributes of files are now properly preserved across saves as well.
  22. * Instructions can now be entered in code mode simply by typing - the
  23.   current text will appear in the minibuffer as you type and be assembled
  24.   as each new line is entered.
  25.   
  26. New calls:
  27. * Zap_TestModeName to see if a given mode has been loaded.
  28. * Zap_UpdateArea, Zap_UpdateWindow, Zap_UpdateWholeWindow - window redraw.
  29.  
  30. Bug fixes:
  31. * The 'save bug' which used to cause filetype changes when using the
  32.   auto-backup '~' feature has been fixed.
  33. * Hideptr has been altered to run on the StrongARM - STM {PC} removed
  34.   Thanks to Martin Ebourne for supplying me with the source.
  35. * Cursor positioning at widths of >=256 was faulty and wrapped. Especially
  36.   noticeable in byte mode while viewing sprites. This now fixed.
  37. * ZapRedraw has been altered so as not to use self modifying code. This
  38.   prevents getting a rubbish screen after a mode change with StrongARM.
  39. * ZapMJE has been hacked to run on StrongARM and hacked to print
  40.   0x numbers correctly at last!
  41. * Removed mode number dependencies from ZapBasic
  42. * Service call 3 (file dying) now issued properly
  43. * Self modifying code removed from SoftWrap so it now works with StrongARM.

  47.   ZapOLE - A Zap mode to handle all OLE requests transparently
  48.   ZapConfig - A very nice utility for configuring Zap's !Config file
  49. * Mathew Hamblerly:
  50.   ZapHTML - A colour HTML mode with many command for inserting common tags
  51.             in any mode use scV to get to the HTML functions
  52. * Olly Betts:
  53.   Updated LineEditor with system variable completion and lots of other
  54.   goodies!
  55. * Darran Salt:
  56.   ZapEmail - mode for handling email
  57.   Updates for ZapDS and all his other useful utilities.
  58. * Tim Tyler:
  59.   Several very useful modes:
  60.   ZapObey - very pretty mode for obey file
  61.   ZapHoTMeal - very colourful HTML mode (which can be used with Matthew's
  62.                HTML commands if you wish)
  63.   ZapMsg - a coloured mode for messages file
  64.   ZapNewMail - another mail mode
  65.   ZapDesc - a colour mode for 'Desc' files
  66. * Daniel Wagenarr:

  71.   patch from Acorn which fixes most problems.
